Adeptos Wines: Crafting Excellence in Every Bottle

Richard joined the family business in 1987 transitioning a small “packaged goods" store from the 30's into a Massachusetts fine wine & spirits retail chain.

Wishing to set his company apart from the rest, he started an importing company, Negociant Direct, in the early 2000's, negotiating and importing "winery direct" from Italy, Spain, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, and of course, his first love, the Napa Valley. 

In 2016, after selling the Cardoza's wine & spirits chain, Negociant Direct and Cork Wine and Tapas bar, he moved to California, the with the dream of making his own wines, using the same model as Negotiant Direct, distributing to large retailers, rather than being the retailer. While in Napa he rekindled and created new relationships consulting on winery openings and other projects and while sourcing fruit for these projects met several winemakers and vineyard owners who would ultimately become the the grape source and winemaking team of ADEPTOS and other jewels in the Cardoza Family Wines portfolio.
